CUC had to “stretch” the load shedding schedule on that day due to high power demand.
CUC took Feeder 2: 2nd Partial and Kiya 4: 2nd Partial offline twice on Monday.
Originally, the power outage for Feeder 2 was scheduled between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. but it was taken offline again from 8 p.m. and 10 p.m.
This affected the Fishing Base in Garapan and south to San Jose intersection.
Kiya 4 was turned off from 12 noon to 2 p.m. schedule, and was taken offline again from 10 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. This interrupted the power service in the Mount Carmel area and portions of Chalan Kanoa.
According to the one week load shedding schedule prepared by CUC, Kiya 1: 1st Partial was the last facility to be taken offline — from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.
CUC said its load shedding schedule “may be altered to address particular emergencies when necessary.”
