CUC personnel on Rota and Tinian are separately taking training on transportation of hazardous materials and dangerous goods.
Iglecias said the training was in compliance with federal law.

“CUC is very strict in implementing its rules against hazardous materials,” he said.
According to Iglecias, they have not encountered an incident involving the mishandling of these materials.
He noted that no person may accept a hazardous material for transportation unless that person is registered.
When transporting hazardous materials, these should be properly classed, described, packaged, marked, labeled and in condition for shipment in accordance with the hazardous material regulations, Iglecias said.
He said the training is necessary since hazardous materials are an integral part of CUC operations.
