“While more resources would help move us forward quicker, the dedication, expertise, and commitment of CUC staff carries the day,” he said.

To address some of its shortfall, Fletcher said CUC is evaluating its rates, fees and charges to determine if adjustments are needed.

“The volatility we all experience with the high cost of fuel for electricity in our homes and businesses also carries over to our water and wastewater systems,” he added.

He said he has been amazed with CUC’s pace of past and current progress, despite a serious lack of resources.

However, he added, “while we have been achieving successes…CUC’s financial struggles simply mean we are unable to provide all the goods, services, capital improvements, and technology we need for the long term.”
