CUC chief financial officer Charles H. Warren said they have rate application cases for water and wastewater in October and a hearing on the levelized energy adjustment clause that need the assistance of Georgetown.
He said Georgetown is necessary to review CUC’s petition to come up with justifiable future rate cases.
He did not disclose how much Georgetown is being paid.
In a recent commission hearing, the sole member, Viola Alepuyo, said she would be hesitant to comply with CUC’s request.
She said her appointment expired on June 7 and the regulatory agency may now be unable to rule or make a decision.
The Legislature has yet to confirm a new member for the commission — Ignacio Perez of Tinian.
Warren said they may defer some of their work, including the preparation of rate cases until such time they can again get the assistance of Georgetown.
“We will encourage the Legislature to meet and vote on the nomination [of Perez],” Warren said.
