CUC’s computer system down but payroll preparation not affected

According to CUC, the billing and payment system suffered a failure early Monday.

“But the cashier office at the Joeten Dandan location will be open during normal business hours and payments are being accepted,” CUC said.

In an interview, Warren said they already bought new hard drives  to upgrade their computer system.

He said in the meantime, they will be issuing payment receipts to customers manually.

The preparation of payroll will not be affected, he said, adding they have a system to follow even if the computers are down.

“The payroll should not be affected,” he said

The only problem is when there’s a dispute regarding a bill whose history CUC can’t check because the computers are down.

Customers are advised that due dates for payments will be strictly enforced. Everyone is encouraged to pay their bills when due to avoid disconnection.

The prepaid meter token system is not affected and is functioning normally, CUC said.

Warren said other than payment processing, most other customer service functions are limited due to the unavailability of the customer information system.

“We apologize for any inconvenience and are working diligently to restore normal operations as soon as possible,” he said.
