THE Commonwealth Utilities Corporation would like to inform the community of a reduced Fuel Adjustment Charge rate effective March 1, 2025.
CUC and the Commonwealth Public Utilities Commission have agreed and approved to lower the rate from $0.23498 per kWh back to January 2025’s rate at $0.21119 per kWh. This rate will remain in effect until CUC and its rate consultant complete the FAC reconciliation process (expected to be done within two to three months), and CUC and CPUC approves a new rate.
The FAC is one of two components that make up the CUC electric charge, which is strictly for fuel and fuel-related purchases. The second component is the CUC Base Rate, which has not increased since April 2014 and is used to fund personnel, operations, projects, debt services, and other non-fuel-related expenses.
