CUC’s water, wastewater offices move to Sadog Tasi

CUC Executive Director Abe Utu Malae said the relocation of office will also cut the driving time of their personnel.

“Employees had to drive from Sadog Tasi to the main office in Dandan to meet with their supervisors.  The time saved driving to and from  the office will now be dedicated to addressing customer concerns,” he said.

CUC water and wastewater division manager Mariano Iglecias said the relocation will allow supervisors and managers to be close to the operations.

“This also enables the assemblage of staff for proper planning, scheduling, briefing and debriefing of daily operational activities,” he said, adding that the new location also gives operations more flexibility to store heavy equipment and tools in a secured area.

Iglecias said the major function of the water and wastewater offices involves system operations like water treatment, distribution repair, wastewater collections and treatment.

He said they receive their daily tasks to ensure the water is treated and pumps are working, leaks are repaired, sewer lift stations and treatment plants are checked and operating within permit conditions.

“These offices monitor daily all water and wastewater systems and communicate field information back to the engineering division for technical support. Also, system upsets or problems encountered in the field are communicated into our Trouble desk to advice customers of the return of services,” he said.

CUC personnel who are transferred from CUC Dandan head office to Sadog Tasi are water treatment and distribution direct responsible charge Bernard Keremius, distribution repair Melvin Tudela, pump and motor mechanic Raymond Itibus, electrician George Babauta, meter operation head Glenn Dikito, distribution maintenance Glenn Villagomez, wastewater operations supervisor Richard Wasser, Sadog Tasi Treatment Plant direct responsible charge Jesse Randles, Agingan Treatment Plant direct responsible charge Carlton Stevens, southern collections direct responsible charge Dean Renninger, northern collections direct responsible charge George Blas, and Iglecias.

Malae said CUC humbly asks for the community’s patience and understanding as it perseveres in its efforts to improve services.

CUC, he added, is also encouraging the community to email questions and or concerns to [email protected].

For concerns needing immediate attention such as leaks, down power lines, sewage overflow, etc., community member may contact the CUC Trouble Desk at 235-0282 or 235-2282.
