Bangladesh Cultural Group president and event organizer Rakibul “Mintu” Islam said yesterday the celebration will be held from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Kilili Beach.
Yesterday was the actual commemoration of “Bangla New Year 1418.”
To mark the occasion on Saturday, there will be sports event and games for children and adults.
Grace Christian Academy will present a puppet show and participants can also avail of the free health screening which includes eye examination, blood sugar and blood pressure checkup.
The Bangladesh Cultural Group is inviting members of the community to join the celebration.
“We wish for the good health and bright future for everyone in the CNMI.” Islam said. “We wish everybody to have a peaceful life. We invite other ethnic groups to join us in celebration to further our bonding and unity.”
The sponsors for the event are the Northern Marianas College Nursing Club, PHI Pharmacy, the Commonwealth Diabetes Coalition, and Hardt Eye Clinic.
