Superior Court Kenneth L. Govendo earlier said Maratita, 33, would start serving his term on July 19. Maratita is expected to be released on Aug. 17.
Govendo sentenced Maratita to three years, all suspended, except for 30 days with credit for 10 days he already served time from April 26 to May 5, 2010 at Corrections.
Maratita earlier pleaded guilty to illegal possession of a controlled substance and conspiracy to commit trafficking of controlled substance — “ice.”
The court granted the Attorney General’s Office motion to dismiss the remaining charge of conspiracy to commit trafficking of controlled substance.
Maratita’s co-defendant is 33-year-old Peter A. Sablan.
After his release from prison, Maratita will be placed on probation for three years.
Maratita is required to pay a probation service fee to be determined by the Adult Probation Office; a $25 court assessment fee within 30 days; and a $100 fine.
He will undergo counseling at the Community Guidance Center for substance/alcohol abuse.
Assistant Attorney General Shelly Neal prosecuted the case while Chief Public Defender Adam Hardwicke served as Maratita’s counsel.
