Ramona M. Magofna, 30, of Kagman III has been charged by the Attorney General’s Office with one count of unlawful carrying of a firearm, one count of carrying a firearm while under the influence of alcohol and one count of disturbing the peace.
The information stated that the defendant carried a .223 rifle while under the influence of alcohol and unreasonably disturbed the peace of Rose DLG. Mondala, depriving her of her right to peace and quiet.
Magofna posted a $5,000 cash bail after she was arrested by authorities on June 12 for firing her gun several times outside her residence on May 15.
According to the the affidavit filed by Detective Christopher Leon Guerrero, Magofna admitted firing her gun because “she was tired of her neighbors coming around to her house and messing up her flowers.”
Leon Guerrero said the defendant also admitted “she was intoxicated and that what she did was a violation of CNMI gun laws.”
Leon Guerrero said residents of Kagman III called the Department of Public Safety after hearing several gunshots coming from the defendant’s residence at 2:15 a.m. on May 15.
Responding police officers recovered a .223 rifle, 12 empty casings, and four live rounds of .223 ammunitions at the scene.
