As task force block captain in Dandan, Camacho said the support of the local government unit is necessary to ensure the program’s success.
At the same time, Camacho is encouraging community and even religious groups to join the task force in its fight against criminality.
He said 25 individuals have already signed up since the task force was launched last year.
This number increased to 45 when they conducted a forum with the PTA, he added.
Camacho said he wants to reach out to the mayor’s office because “the people in the villages are mostly the victims” of crime.
Last year, he said they started community outreach activities to encourage more people to participate in the program.
Last December, during the holiday season, burglaries in Dandan increased, which prompted residents to take a strong stand in support of the task force, he said.
“This year we will further strengthen the task force by spreading out to the other villages,” he added.
