Citing security reasons and hospital policy, a CHC staffer declined to give further details regarding the victim, who is in her mid-40s.
Yesterday, the Department of Public Safety released an image from the store’s security camera footage showing the still unidentified suspect and the victim during the robbery.
DPS spokesman PO2 Eric David said “the case is still under investigation.”
A DPS source earlier said the victim would undergo surgery to remove bullet fragments that were still lodged at the back of her left ear.
The bullet fired from a caliber .22 rifle hit the bridge of her nose and exited behind her left ear, Variety was told.
The masked robber shot the cashier after she handed him over $200.
The federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives has joined DPS in investigating the case, Variety was told.
Police said the suspect is approximately 5’9”- 6’ in height, weighing between 175 and 220 lbs., wearing a black long-sleeve shirt with blue trim army combat uniform pants. He used a dark cloth to cover his face.
