Offered by the CNMI Scholarship Office, the $800 financial assistance will allow the recipient to enroll as a part-time student at NMC.
In a statement, NMC said the applicants must comply with the requirements of the Educational Assistance Program and must submit their application before Dec. 15 to the CNMI Scholarship Office.
The funds will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, which means that only 312 applicants will be awarded the grant.
Among the requirements are the recent official transcript, copy of passport/birth certificate with ID picture, acceptance letter, proof of CNMI residency in 2006 and 2007 and employment verification.
An applicant, moreover, must be enrolled for 6-11 credits and should maintain the same number of credits.
A cumulative GPA of 2.25 on a 4.0 scale is also required.
NMC said that applicants have until Feb. 28, 2009 to submit supporting documents.
However, applicants are encouraged to complete their application packets as soon as possible.
Merissa Rasa, the CNMI Scholarship Office administrator, said the part-time scholarship is only good for one semester and its continuance will be based on the availability of funds for the next semesters.
