“I recommended him just to see if actually the governor doesn’t like James or somebody else,” he said, referring to former Mayor James M. Mendiola who was his original nominee.
Dela Cruz said he recommended Mendiola to Gov. Benigno R. Fitial over two years ago.
“James has always been my original nominee for MVA,” Dela Cruz said.
But he said when he suggested Christian the governor nominated Mendiola.
“Then I retracted the nomination of Christian,” Dela Cruz said.
