Forty volunteers from the community spent the whole morning picking up trash from the shores and going through the trail back to the road to deposit the collected trash in DEQ vehicles for proper disposal.
The volunteers were from DEQ, the Historic Preservation Office, the Department of Community and Cultural Affairs, the Military Sealift Command, PH/Chest Clinic, the Marianas Variety and other members of the community.
“I am very thankful for the continued support of the volunteers in joining beach cleanup activities to maintain the health of our coral reefs as well as the cleanliness of our beaches so everyone can enjoy them,” said Joe Kaipat of DEQ .
