“She drives like a dream.”
The gift from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration is one of just two of its kind in the world; the other is in California.
CNMI’s Division of Fish & Wildlife will utilize the $550,000 “Center Console” Safeboat for marine enforcement patrols and interceptions.
DFW’s new marine vehicle came with two 250-hp Yamaha engines that Omar describes as “very powerful” and the range of the craft includes Guam and the Northern Islands on one tank of fuel.
For everyone who appreciates technology, the Safeboat is fully loaded with a state-of-the-art Global Positioning System and a radar system that covers 80-miles.
For Jess and the other enforcement officers at DFW, it’s just another great day at the office.
