Dinner package for best decorated trunk at American Memorial Park

Park Ranger Nancy Kelchner said everything is ready for the big night.

“The Halloween night falls on a Sunday so we are expecting a lot of participants to join us and have fun,” she said.

Over 20 car owners will  decorate their trunks and distribute candies and special treats to the children. The car owners include members of the Saipan Rotary Club, Marianas Variety and Transportation Security Administration personnel as well as other individuals.

Kelchner is urging everybody, young and old, to “come in your spookiest attire and mingle with other scary characters to transform the park grounds to another memorable Halloween scene.”

A parade will take place  after dark where everybody gets to see everyone else’s Halloween costumes, Kelchner said.

Family-oriented movies will also be shown at the Visitor Center theater throughout the whole day.

Kelchner is optimistic they will surpass last year’s attendance of over 850 children who went home loaded with buckets of candies and special treats from individuals and agencies that joined the Trunk or Treat event.

“We hope to see you all for a fun and spooky night on Sunday,” Kelchner said.
