Docomo Pacific President and Chief Executive Officer Christine Baleto speaks as Lt. Gov. David M. Apatang and Docomo Pacific Consumer Sales Supervisor Verna Sablan listen during the opening of a new call center in Gualo Rai on Wednesday.
DOCOMO Pacific is still hiring call center associates on Saipan.
Brand Manager Brent Deleon Guerrero told reporters during the ribbon cutting ceremony in Gualo Rai on Wednesday that the job opening will be posted on social media where applicants can see the link to their website, and apply online.
He said they’re looking for an associate who “embodies the same respect and values that we uphold in Docomo Pacific.”
“We always encourage everyone to apply because there are so many opportunities here in Docomo Pacific and while you may be applying for a call center position, you may stumble upon another job opening in a different department. So, please just stay tuned to our call center,” he said.
On Wednesday, Docomo Pacific introduced its first group of 10 telemarketers, half of whom are former employees of Hyatt Regency Saipan, which shut down on June 30, 2024.
Docomo Pacific President and Chief Executive Officer Christine Baleto said their goal is to have 50 call center associates. She said she already told the Saipan team that she wants 10 more call center telemarketers before the end of year.
It has been “a herculean effort,” she said, because she just took over as president and CEO on June 1. That’s when she also told her team that she wanted to open the call center, which involved training the telemarketers in three months.
Now, she said, “I am pretty sure they can bring up the next 10 [telemarketers] and if they can do it in three months, depending on space, then we want to do that and we just want to continue to bring up 10 at a time until we get to the [goal].”
Baleto said there are “really good people out there, and we are happy to have them join our Docomo Pacific family.”
“So we encourage everybody to apply and, as Brent said, when the position becomes available we will definitely … start calling people,” she said.
