DPL Secretary Oscar M. Babauta, in an interview, said he was sure that other government agencies will remit what is due to the general fund.
Babauta said the amount his department remitted came from DPL’s collections.
He said the money does not go directly to CUC as it was remitted to the general fund.
“But of course this will eventually help the CUC,” he added.
He said DPL remits some $800,000 to the general fund each quarter for administrative and other expenses like payroll and utility costs.
Babauta believes there are other revenue generating agencies of the executive branch that owe money to the general fund.
Variety learned that other agencies remitted their obligations to the general fund on Wednesday.
On Tuesday, Gov. Benigno R. Fitial tapped $300,000 from the general fund to pay for CUC’s fuel.
CUC said it needs $1.2 million a week for its fuel.
