DPS has a new spokesman

David takes over the position vacated by Lei Ogumoro, who will be relocating to the U.S. mainland soon.

“Being the information officer for DPS is not new for me because I had been in this post from 2003 to 2005,” David told the Variety.

“I will be picking up where Ogumoro left off, and I am looking forward to working with DPS in giving up to date information to all the departments, and in maintaining the DPS Web site,” David said.

Ogumoro’s resignation takes effect today.

In a statement, Ogumoro said working for DPS has been a wonderful experience.

“I would like to extend my appreciation to all of you for working alongside DPS as we keep the community safe and informed of public safety-related issues,” she said.

Ogumoro, a business administration graduate of St. Mary’s College of California, was appointed DPS spokesman in Feb. 2007
