According to DPS spokesman Sgt. Thomas A. Blas Jr., Aniceto T. Ogumoro is still the acting commissioner and not Ambrosio Ogumoro as earlier reported.
Blas said “there are no documents coming from the governor’s office” regarding Ambrosio T. Ogumoro, who is the brother of the acting commissioner.
Blas said Aniceto Ogumoro was designated acting commissioner on Nov. 29 after DPS Commissioner Santiago F. Tudela went off-island for personal reasons.
Tudela is expected to return in Jan. 2011.
On Friday, Gov. Benigno R. Fitial said he was renewing the contract of then-Deputy Commissioner Ambrosio T. Ogumoro who was relieved of his duties by Tudela in May and last month, only to be reinstated by the governor.
