THE Department of Public Safety has identified possible suspects in the recent break-ins at Da’ok Academy and Koblerville Elementary School, DPS public information officer Sergeant Fred Sato said.
Investigators continue to look into the leads provided by members of the community, he added.
“We have received tips through the DPS landline and Crime Stoppers regarding possible suspects. The Criminal Investigation Bureau is working on these leads right now,” Sato said.
“There are no warrants of arrests issued yet and we do not have actual suspects right now. We will release that information as soon as possible, unless we determine they are juveniles,” he added.
Under the law, minors under 16 have a curfew of 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. while 16- to 18-year-olds have a 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. curfew.
“The case remains active; no arrests have been made,” Sato reiterated.
In the morning of Nov. 10, the Da’ok Academy’s administrator reported to the police that the school had been burglarized.
Sato said the school administrator viewed the school’s surveillance footage “because she noticed a nearby closet was open and the room was in disarray. That’s when she confirmed that the school had been burglarized. Items that were stolen included laptops, iPads, and more.”
The nearby temporary classrooms of Koblerville Elementary School were also burglarized.
The suspects used their shirts to cover their faces before breaking into Daok Academy.
