DPS Web site getting more visits

She said she has yet to get the figures and statistics from the Web site designer, who informed her about the increasing number of “hits.”

Roxanne Diaz of CD Consulting Services said they are continually uploading whatever files they get from DPS to update the Web site.

“It’s a continuing process, but we are getting a good response,” Diaz said.

Soon, members of the community will no longer need to falling in line at the counters of the Division of Motor Vehicles to renew their driver’s licenses, vehicle registration and other forms.

“We are currently uploading the forms so that the people can just fill up the forms online without having to go to the BMV to do this,” Diaz said.

She said filing applications and renewals online offers residents great convenience as it serves as a one-stop shop to conduct transactions with  DPS.

The Web site, www.dps.gov.mp was launched last month with the aim of providing the community access to DPS and for the department to improve its services to the people.

It has been up and running since its launch in the middle of July.

The Web site covers the different divisions under DPS including  police, fire division, motor vehicles, criminal investigation, Tinian and Rota.

The Web site’s initial development and set-up cost $2,700 and DPS will be paying a monthly fee for the Web site hosting, technical support and real time updates.
