THE CNMI DPW-Division of Energy is proud to announce the official launch of two new energy efficiency programs aimed at improving quality of life, reducing utility costs, and supporting environmental sustainability: the Cool Roof Rebate Program and the Electric Bicycles (E-Bikes) Rebate Program. Both programs will open to the public on Wednesday, June 11, 2025.
The Cool Roof Rebate Program offers residential homeowners on Saipan the opportunity to receive up to $600 in rebates for Energy Star-approved cool roof coatings, which reflect sunlight and reduce indoor temperatures. Approved products must meet the CNMI Tropical Energy Code Certification and Labeling of cool roof products as determined by the Cool Roof Rating Council, in accordance with CRRC-1.
The Cool Roof Rebate Program launch dates for Tinian and Rota residents are tentatively set for June 20, 2025 and June 27, 2025, respectively. Details regarding the time and locations will be provided ahead of the scheduled launch dates.
The E-Bikes Rebate Program is available to Saipan residents and provides up to $300 per electric bicycle, with a household limit of two vouchers per residential home, not to exceed $600 total. Electric bicycles must meet safety, legal, and manufacturer compliance standards.
Both programs operate on a first-come, first-served basis until funds are exhausted. Vouchers must be redeemed on or before September 30, 2025.
Residents are encouraged to take advantage of these programs to reduce their energy use, transportation costs, and environmental impact.
The CNMI Division of Energy strongly advises all interested applicants to call the office first to confirm eligibility requirements, ensure product qualification, and verify required documents before visiting the office in person. This will ensure a smoother and faster application process.
