EDSA revolution should inspire Filipinos in NMI

“The triumph of EDSA is a fitting reminder that hope for better future remains even in the most difficult and uncertain condition,” Macaraig added.

Members of the Filipino community joined on Friday the consulate personnel at the Filipino Workers Human Resource Center on the ground floor of the Marianas Business Plaza in commemorating the historic event.

Macaraig led the flag raising ceremony at 8 a.m. while Rowena Tolosa, the consulate’s finance officer, led the singing of the Philippine National Anthem.

Olive Yana of the United Filipino Organizations led the invocation.

Consul Belinda M. Ante read President Benigno S. Aquino III’s message while the consulate’s administrative officer Jose Sto. Domingo read the message of Foreign Affairs Secretary Alberto G. Romulo.

Macaraig for his part encouraged Filipino workers to send representative to Global Summit of Filipino Workers on Sept. 11 in the Philippines.
