“The program insures I will maintain high grades by offering tutoring sessions, career workshops and a summer program for students,” she said.

On Saturday, June 26, an education fundraiser will be held for her at Ralphy’s Lounge here in Hagåtña, from 6 p.m. to 12 midnight.

The fee is $10 per person and includes one domestic drink.

San Nicolas has been accepted to the JSA Princeton University summer school program, the total cost of which is over $7,300.

“The reason I originally applied was because I believed this was a great opportunity for me,” she said.  “I now realize I want to pursue law, as my major, in college and this will be an asset to that goal.  I want to have my voice heard, and help those who are not strong enough to stand up for themselves.  I have strong leadership skills and a career in law will enable me to turn my goals into realty. This is an opportunity of a lifetime for me, and I plan to use it wisely.”

After high school she plans to attend Chaminade University in Hawaii. She wants to become a lawyer and join the Navy as an officer in the Judge Advocate General Corps.

“After completion of my military service I will return to Guam where I plan to pursue my career in law and politics.”

She added, “Any contribution you feel appropriate would be greatly appreciated.  I know I have a long way to go from where I am now, which is why this Princeton summer school program is so important to me. Si Yu’us Ma’ase.”
