Emangmai gets 90 days for hitting girlfriend

Inos credited 90 days already served by Emangmai, 25, at the Department of Corrections facility.

Inos originally sentenced Emangmai to three years’ imprisonment, all suspended.

Emangmai will complete anger management counseling and 200 hours of community work service.

He will pay a $200 fine as well as a court assessment and a probation fee.

Emangmai was represented by court-appointed defense attorney Rex Cosack while Chief Prosecutor Michael Ernest represented the government.

On Aug. 2, 2011, the prosecution said Emangmai slapped his girlfriend and repeatedly hit her with a broomstick at a house in Koblerville.

The victim was brought to the Commonwealth Health Center for treatment of bruises all over her upper back, left shoulder, eyes, left cheek and left jaw. The left side of her head was also swollen, police said.
