The recipients included the 120 individuals who showed up for the first food distribution on March 29, but were placed on the waiting list because EVM had already ran out of supplies. “They received a bit more on Monday,” foundation president and board chair Rosalyn Ajoste said.
Aside from food distribution at EVM’s office on Middle Road, Ajoste said they also delivered food items to houses in various villages.
In addition, she said EVM provided several cases of canned goods to the CNMI Center for Independent Living through Susan Satur and her staff members.

On Monday at the EVM office, Ajoste said nine volunteers strictly implemented the six feet social distancing rule during the distribution of food packs.
She said each pack consisted of brown rice, three cans of tuna, three cans of sardines, three boxes of milk, cereals, Japanese snacks and fresh vegetables: Chinese cabbage, string beans, tomatoes, green mangoes, eggplants and onions.
For the next distribution of food packs, she said EVM has already registered 400 people.

On behalf of EVM, Ajoste expressed appreciation to supporters and donors which included Department of Community and Cultural Affairs Secretary Robert Hunter, Gov. Ralph DLG Torres, Clarence Tenorio and Joeten Enterprises, Jason Sablan, Dr. Elizabeth Triche, Dr. Joel Smith, Dr. Julion Pena, Dr. Peter Brett and the Muslim Community of Saipan.
“And thank you DCCA Secretary Robert Hunter for your hard work and for including EVM as a recipient of donations,” Ajoste said. “Many families will be blessed as a result.”
