Dr. Christian Wei of Eucon, Dr. Sang Cheol Choi, associate professor at the Division of Global Internship, and Professor Jeong Yoong Cho, vice dean of academic affairs at Baekseok Culture University, signed the memorandum of agreement on Wednesday.
The cooperation will involve a student exchange program that includes training on English as a Second Language or ESL. Baekseok will send students to Eucon for this training.
In a statement, Wei said Baekseok Cultural University sent a group of students to study at Eucon last winter.
“They were very satisfied with our ESL program and decided to enter into an MOU with our college,” Wei said.
Baekseok Culture University president Youngmin Ko said they have been selected as a superior university in 24 areas including foreign language education by the South Korean Ministry of Education and human Resources Development.
The partnership between the two schools was made possible by the assistance of Juliannna H. Kim, general manager of Happy Islands Tour on Saipan.
Eucon offers its ESL program during the summer and winter breaks and provides short-term training for younger students.
