Eucon to host medical ministry

Dr. Christian Wei, Eucon president, said Dr. Tommy Mitchell of Answers in Genesis will be the guest speaker.

Answers in Genesis, according to its Web site, is a “Christianity-defending ministry, dedicated to enabling Christians to defend their faith and to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ effectively. We focus particularly on providing answers to questions surrounding the book of Genesis, as it is the most-attacked book of the Bible. We also desire to train others to develop a biblical worldview, and seek to expose the bankruptcy of evolutionary ideas, and its bedfellow, a ‘millions of years old’ earth (and even older universe).”

Mitchell has spoken to thousands of adults, youth, and children in a variety of settings, “clearly communicating reasons to trust the Bible and the Creator Christ who wrote it.”

He has written articles for AiG’s Web site and other publications, and was the featured speaker during Answers in Genesis’ relief efforts after Hurricane Katrina, resulting in an award-winning DVD, “A God of Suffering?”

Mitchell graduated with highest honors from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 1980, with a major in cell biology and a minor in biochemistry.

For his “superior scholarship during his undergraduate study,” he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa Society, the oldest and one of the most-respected honor societies in America).

He subsequently attended Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in Nashville, where he received his medical degree in 1984.

In his medical ministry on Saipan  he will talk about the following topics: “Why Genesis Matters”; “Why Can’t a Day Mean a Day?”; “Noah’s Ark and the Global Flood”; “A God of Suffering?”; “Scientific Controversies: Stem Cells/Cloning and the Big Bang”; “Are You Intimidated?”; “After Their Kind”; “Jurassic Prank — A Dinosaur Tale”; “When Does Life Begin”; “Did Anybody Hear a Big Bang?”; “Were There Dinosaurs on the Ark?”; “We’re Taking Them Back”; “Do You REALLY Have Answers?”; “Dinosaurs for Dummies”; “Suicide and Euthanasia”; “He Made the Stars Also”; “Evolution and Medicine”; and “Worshipping the Creator God.”
