Visiting Nevada Judge Philip M. Pro said Steven Faisao Abal will be placed on 58 months of supervised release after his release from prison.
Judge Pro credited the 13 days time served by Abal who was taken into custody early this month after the Federal Probation Office moved for the revocation of his supervised release.
Abal was remanded to the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service after his revocation hearing yesterday morning.
Judge Pro ruled on the petition after hearing oral arguments of Abal’s court-appointed defense attorney Robert T. Torres, and Assistant U.S. Attorney Kirk Schuler, the prosecutor.
The Federal Probation Office said Abal used “ice” on several occasions.
Abal was also terminated on Dec. 27, 2009 from his employment after it was discovered that he stole money from the company.
Last year, Abal also tested positive in a drug test, the Federal Probation Office said.
On Jan. 8, 2007, Abal began serving his term of supervised release.
On Oct. 26, 2005, then-Chief Judge Alex Munson sentenced Abal to a 20-month jail sentence, followed by five years of supervised released for conspiracy to distribute “ice.”
