U.S. District Court for the NMI Chief Judge Alex R. Munson dismissed the other charges against Guerrero.
Munson said Guerrero must not commit another federal, state or local crime, must not unlawfully possess or use a controlled substance, and must submit to the collection of a DNA sample at the direction of the U.S. Probation Office.
He must comply with the conditions of supervision, is prohibited from possessing a firearm or other dangerous weapon, and will complete 500 hours of community service.
He will pay an assessment fee of $100.
Guerrero entered into a plea agreement in Aug. 2008 after he was indicted with former Lt. Gov. Timothy P. Villagomez, former Commerce Secretary James A. Santos and his wife Joaquina Santos for defrauding the U.S. government of thousands of dollars in purchasing a de-scaling chemical called Rydlyme.
Guerrero’s sentencing was originally set for Feb. 27, 2009 but it was postponed after his counsel Robert T. Torres and the prosecution, through Assistant U.S. Attorney Eric O’Malley, agreed to re-set the sentencing hearing.
Guerrero became a prosecution witness during the jury trial of Villagomez and the Santos couple whom the jury found guilty of all charges.
They will be sentenced on July 28.
