SUVA (Pacnews) — A three-member team from the Suva-based Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat will head to the Solomon Islands later this month to look at ways in which the regional organization can assist in the country’s nation building efforts.
Noel Levi, the secretary-general of the Forum Secretariat, said the Forum Eminent Group would be in the Solomon Islands from June 20-27.
He said the information-gathering mission would assist the Forum Secretariat, as well as the region as a whole, in assisting the Solomon Islands “during this challenging period of post-crisis reconstruction and nation building.”
The visit follows an earlier successful trip, which assisted in supervising elections proceedings in the country last year.”
