Feds arrest man for Las Vegas felony theft case

Ip Ka Cheung was released to the custody of CNMI authorities, and was brought to the Superior Court for his initial appearance and bail hearing yesterday afternoon.

Judge David A. Wiseman allowed Ip to post $5,000 cash as 10 percent of his bail order, and the remainder as unsecured bond.

The court also allowed Ip’s release to Tinian Dynasty Hotel and Casino general manager Thomas Liu as the defendant’s third party custodian.

Ip is a hotel guest.

The court also ordered Ip to surrender his travel documents.

Chief Prosecutor Michael Ernest represented the government while attorney Anthony Long is Ip’s defense counsel.

Other details of the case were not available.
