THE financial services division office of the Department of Finance is undergoing renovation, Finance Secretary Tracy B. Norita said.
In a Whatsapp interview on Saturday, Norita said they are temporarily moving the financial services division from Capital Hill to Horiguchi Building in Garapan, which previously housed the information technology office of the department.
In 2021, then-Finance Sec. David DLG Atalig signed a one-year lease agreement with Horiguchi Building to accommodate the Finance IT office.
The Horiguchi Building also served as the home of the District Court for the NMI for many years before the United States Courthouse was constructed in Gualo Rai.
The Procurement Office was also housed at Horiguchi after its former location in Lower Base was deemed unsafe by the Department of Public Works, which sent a demand letter to Finance to vacate the premises.
