THE Department of Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to a fire at a single-story tin house in San Vicente on Friday evening after a female caller reported the incident.

DFEMS public information officer Robert Mojica said the call was made at 9:10 p.m. Fire personnel arrived at 9:22 p.m. and found the house fully engulfed in flames, with no occupants inside.

“Two teams entered the home to quickly extinguish the fire. At 9:27 p.m., Captain A. Farley reported to dispatch that the fire was under control,” Mojica said.

Fire Prevention and Arson Investigation investigators J. San Nicolas and K. Kileleman assessed the scene and reported: “Initial investigation revealed that the single-story tin structure sustained major fire damage. Fire patterns indicated the area of origin was on the north side of the interior. The structure had no electrical connection except for a solar floodlight. The fire did not spread to the adjacent property due to spacing between the property lines.”

Mojica added, “No combustible materials were found and no fatalities reported.”

According to DFEMS, the cause of the fire remains under investigation and will be determined at a later date by the Division of Fire and Arson Investigation.
