A FIRE of still unknown cause burned one of the rooms of Tan Holdings barracks in Lower Base on Friday.
No one was reported injured in the blaze, according to the Department of Public Safety’s spokesman, Police Lt. Pete C. Muna.
Muna said investigation showed that Ping Lu and her boyfriend, Xu Nan Quin, noticed that something was burning in their room.
Fire started to engulf the room, but firefighters extinguished the blaze and prevented it from spreading to other rooms.
Muna said investigators determined that the fire was caused by an electrical problem.
“The cause was suspicious. The case is still under investigation,” Muna said. The extent of damage was not indicated in the report.
