“Social responsibility is deeply rooted by the amount of support that one provides to our local communities,” he said.
By tapping the local workforce, he said it will also enhance the businesses’ ability to reflect the true spirit of island hospitality.
The governor said the tourism industry is constantly evolving and competition remains fierce.
In order for the CNMI to thrive, he added, the government and the business sector must constantly adapt and make improvements to keep up with the ever changing demands and desires of the market.
Fitial encouraged tourist-oriented businesses to continue innovating and making improvements to attract more tourists.
He said there’s a need to enhance the islands as a tourist destination in the Pacific.
“Let’s continue to work together to further boost our efforts to entice more and more tourists to consider visiting our islands,” he said.
