He then leaves for San Francisco for a Federal Regional Council meeting, which is slated for July 12 to 13.

Leaders from Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada, and the Pacific Islands will be present at the meeting.

Last week, the governor discussed his agenda for the  meeting with some of his administration officials.

Variety learned he will be talking about renewable energy at the meeting.

From San Francisco, Fitial will head to Washington, D.C., where he will attend the July 14 hearing on the federalization of CNMI immigration and Congressman Gregorio Kilili Camacho Sablan’s U.S. H.R. 1466.

On the federalization law, Fitial said he will be showing the U.S. House Subcommittee on Fisheries, Wildlife, Oceans and Insular Affairs “progress reports,” adding that the implementation of the law is “moving forward.”

“I am testifying against the bill introduced by Kilili,” Fitial said regarding Sablan’s H.R. 1466, which will grant CNMI-status to certain nonresidents.
