Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways and streets as well as other poor-drainage areas and low-lying spots. Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become unstable and unsafe.
Report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you can do so safely. Gov. Ralph DLG Torres is advising residents of Saipan and Tinian to be mindful of precautionary/preparedness actions and to stay informed on the latest
statements and advisories which will be available through local media sources. For more information, call the CNMI Emergency Operations Center-State Warning Point at 237-8000 or 664-8000.
