Former DPW director denies assaulting minor

Superior Court Presiding Judge Robert C. Naraja earlier determined that Inos was indigent based on the financial assessment by the Adult Probation Office.

Inos told the court that he is currently unemployed.

Naraja appointed Assistant Public Defender Adam Miles to represent Inos and scheduled a status conference for next month.

Chief Prosecutor Michael Ernest represented the government.

The Attorney General’s Office has charged Inos with assault and battery, disturbing the peace, misconduct in office, and false arrest of a minor.

On Aug. 16, the AGO complaint stated, Inos “did unlawfully detain [the 17-year-old victim] by force against her will.”

The AGO said the defendant also “unlawfully struck, beat, wounded, or otherwise caused bodily harm, or had sexual contact” with his victim.

Variety earlier learned that a female Workforce Investment Agency trainee had accused Inos of sexually assaulting her in his office.
