Former Tinian Sen. David M. Cing is happy to share the bumper stickers and photo of Vice President Kamala Harris that he and his wife, Daria, received two weeks ago.
FORMER Tinian Sen. David M. Cing and his wife Daria, as grassroots members of the national Democratic Party, are urging their relatives and friends living in the States to vote for Vice President Kamala Harris, the party’s candidate for president.
Cing, a longtime CNMI Democrat, said he and his wife received a note from Harris two weeks ago, thanking them for joining her grassroots team.
“It’s an honor to have you on my grassroots team. This campaign is about you, the people, and the power each of us has to move our country forward. Thank you from the bottom of my heart,” Harris told the Cing couple.
In an interview, Cing said in the 1990s, President Bill Clinton, also a Democrat, sent his son, Vinnie Boy, a similar “thank you” note. He said he and his family have been grassroots members of the national Democratic Party for over three decades now.
He understands that U.S. citizens who are registered voters in the territories cannot vote for president, but he said there are many local residents who have families and relatives in the States, where they are registered voters.
Cing also believes that Harris will be the nation’s first female president.
Harris’ Republican opponent is former President Donald J. Trump.
