An HIV/AIDS education group, Baha, has reached an agreement with more than 90 hotels and guest houses to distribute two million free condoms.
Two percent of people in PNG are believed to be infected with the AIDS virus.
In some areas, the figure could be as high as 10 percent.
Eileen Seneve from Baha said they have targeted hotels for free condoms because that’s where many people are infected.
Baha is putting the condoms into new packages featuring the work of a local artist after a major hotel chain complained the original boxes were too bland.
