Dr. Craig Benham, who arrived on Saipan a month ago, is starting a new photography business here. He said the workship will be touching on several aspects of photography for those who are interested.
“The workshops are free because I believe that information should be shared free,” Benham told the Variety yesterday.
He said photographers and would-be photographers from all ages and categories are welcome to participate.
“For those who have cameras, bring them with you. For those who don’t have cameras, you can still participate. Just bring your notepad and pen,” Benham said.
Tomorrow’s workshop will include topics on basic photography, photography techniques, transition from automatic to manual, time exposure, and night photography.
For models, Benham said that he will also be giving tips on modeling for photo shoots.
“I will be sharing tips on what the models need to know about photographers, and what the photographers need to know about the models,” Benham said.
It is important for the model and photographer to create a smooth working relationship so they can have excellent photo results, he added.
Benham is also inviting professional models and individuals who would like to pose as models or learn the art of modeling to come and join the workshop. Models must bring their own make-up, fashion/jewelry/clothing changes and any props they might want to use.
Tomorrow’s workshop is only the first of a series, Benham said. He is also planning another session of workshops covering different aspects of photography after tomorrow.
He said he will also share tips on other areas of photography including macro-shooting, on-location photography, studio shots, and others.
