

(Office of the Governor) — We’re excited to share another month of progress and collaboration across the Commonwealth, including:
• National Book Festival – Team JKPL represented the Marianas in Washington, D.C., showcasing local authors and culture on a national stage.
• Emergency Preparedness – HSEM’s Tsunami Preparedness Workshop emphasized swift, informed responses to natural disasters.
• Miner Safety – MSHA officials visited Saipan to strengthen compliance and readiness for a potential mining industry.
• Insurance Policy Leadership – CNMI officials from the Department of Commerce advanced consumer protection and regulatory priorities at the NAIC National Meeting.
• Cultural Celebrations – Rota celebrated its Coconut and Sweet Potato Festival, highlighting local traditions and community partnerships.
• Labor Day Recognition – Employees of the Year were honored for their service and contributions to government excellence.
Upcoming events include the Field of Heroes Monday, Sept. 15, at 5 p.m. and the Coastal Cleanup this Friday, Sept. 19.
