Secretary of Foreign Affairs Lorin S. Robert and Australian Ambassador Susan Cox signed the MOU.
The FSM Weather Service Station, Geosciences Australia and the Australian Bureau of Meteorology are the designated implementing agencies for the project.
The main objectives of the MOU are to provide a sustainable network of accurate sea level monitoring stations to collect, analyze, and disseminate high quality sea level data in the Pacific region to provide advance warning of tsunamis and the effects of climate change.
