President Manny Mori created the task force to carry out workshops and consultation earlier this year.
The review is aimed toward presenting FSM’s achievements and shortcomings in advancing human rights issues.
Chigiyal said based on consultations, a national report is expect to be completed and submitted to the U.N. Human Rights Council by Aug. 2010.
Chigiyal is asking Yap to provide its views and requested Gov. Sebastian Anefal to designate a focal point at the state level to work closely with national task force. The Departments of Health and Social Services as well as Justice in Palikir are also expected to work with state counterparts on this review.
