FSM’s Susaia assumes Beijing post

He is the first resident ambassador to be posted in Beijing since the FSM Embassy opened its doors in the heart of China in April 2007.

Susaia comes to Beijing with a wealth of knowledge and experience that will enable him to carry out his diplomatic duties to the fullest in China.

His educational background includes: Xavier High School, Kapiolani Community College, the University of the South Pacific-Suva, University of Hawaii-Manoa, and University of Oregon.

Susaia holds a bachelor of arts degree in political science and a master’s degree in public administration both from the University of Oregon.

His long career in public service dates back to 1979 when he first entered the work force at the Pohnpei State Legislature. He has since then held various high profile posts both at the state and national governments.
