Mobil Oil Marianas’ regular gas price went down to $3.28 a gallon from $3.43 a gallon while supreme is now $3.73 per gallon from $3.88 a gallon. The price of diesel remains $3.91 a gallon. Shell Marianas’ premium gas price is also down to $3.28 a gallon.

“This is good news in the middle of a global crisis,” motorist Irene Holl said. “We’re all tired of hearing bad news. At least there’s a little bit of news that can make us feel good in these trying times.”

Another motorist, Jess Sablan, said the gas price rollbacks are “helpful.”

Meanwhile, Mobil Oil Marianas would like to assure the public that there is sufficient fuel supply available on Saipan, Tinian and Rota.

“We are aware of a message circulating on social media informing that Mobil is low on gas and diesel and there is a delay in its fuel shipment. Mobil Oil Marianas would like to reassure the public that it is not true,” the public advisory stated.

In a statement, Press Secretary Kevin Bautista said: “Mobil has assured the CNMI government that there is sufficient fuel supply to service Saipan, Tinian, and Rota.”

He added, “There has never been a shortage of supplies for fuel, groceries, and other essentials. We thank our fuel providers, our grocery stores and local businesses, and the many workers still providing essential services and practicing social distancing at their establishments for our community during this unprecedented time. Their work is just as important as our first responders’ work through the governor’s Covid-19 Task Force and the Commonwealth Healthcare Corporation. We’re in this together as one community, one Marianas.”
