Fuel prices up by 10 cents

The price of regular gasoline per gallon went up from $3.68 to $3.78; supreme from $4.13 to $4.23; and diesel from $3.91 to $4.06.

Shell Marianas is expected to follow suit.

House Vice Speaker Lorenzo I. Deleon Guerrero said the fuel price increases may affect the fuel adjustment cost or FAC assessed by the  Commonwealth Utilities Corp.

But he also said there is nothing the government can do about oil price increases, which are largely determined by global market factors.

However, under an emergency declaration, he said the governor can impose a price freeze on basic commodities including fuel.

The price of regular gasoline per gallon was $3.93 when Gov. Ralph DLG Torres imposed a price freeze on March 5, 2020.
